When I awake each morning, I really don’t know what the day will entail. Sure, I know what’s on my calendar and the events that will take place … but I don’t know how God will act through those experiences to accomplish His will. That is what I call “The Everyday Adventure” which is the active participation in divine providence. It means letting go of my expectations and praying to be open and responsive to God’s will in all things.
There is a sense of wonder and trust that underlies this daily excitement. Even in the midst of mundane activities that compose the “daily grind,” there is still meaningful fulfillment because they, too, are part of divine providence. Sometimes it is in the midst of the most ordinary experiences that God works in truly extraordinary ways.
Perhaps “enthusiasm” is a better word to describe this experience of life in God.
