The Catholic Church welcomes the Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. Respect for the dignity of every human life from conception until natural death is a core tenet of our faith. This conviction compels us to seek justice and advocate for the protection of the vulnerable, the voiceless and the afflicted.
It is our hope that this decision will allow our society to build a culture of life.
Much work remains to build this culture in the state of Nevada. I will continue to advocate for public policies that support life and help struggling families thrive.
As a successor of the Apostles, I ask all parishes, institutions, organizations and individuals to redouble efforts to accompany women and couples with unexpected or difficult pregnancies. Many programs throughout the state provide assistance and compassionate accompaniment to vulnerable families as they nurture their children from pregnancy through early childhood.
