Is there life after death?

Yes (For Human Beings)

The soul’s continued existence after biological death is a matter of intense philosophical argument, going back to Socrates himself. However, in the realm of Christian theology, it becomes a matter of divine revelation. Jesus explicitly affirms the soul’s continued existence in Matthew 22:32, where He, citing the Torah, speaks of the long dead Patriarchs as still being alive, since “God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”

This is especially important for Catholics, since we see in the saints this reality come to fruition — the saints are our older brothers and sisters in the faith, who, living, stand before the face of God. As such, we maintain our close relationship with them, asking them to intercede for us just as we would those sitting in the pew next to us (c.f. Revelation 6:9-11, as those who had been martyred pray for the Church still on earth).
