To Report Sexual Abuse of Minors or Vulnerable Adults by Priests, Deacons, Religious or by any Employee or Volunteer of the Diocese of Reno, first call the child abuse hotline, then report allegations to the Victim Assistant toll free number: 1-844-669-8911 throughout Northern Nevada.

It is the policy of the Diocese of Reno to adhere to all civil and state regulations regarding the reporting of any allegation of abuse of a minor. The child abuse reporting mandate is imposed on any individual who comes into contact with
children in the course of his or her work, volunteerism, or professional practice. Those who serve in staff/volunteer positions interacting with children in any Church-related institution are obligated to immediately make a report to the proper civil authorities. Then notify the Victim’s Advocate.
The mandate to report to child welfare services applies to all suspected child abuse, not just abuse that has been perpetrated by Church personel.
To report a bishop of sexual misconduct or of intentionally interfering in an abuse investigation, call or go online. Civil authorities will be informed if a crime may have been committed. Otherwise, reports are confidential.
