God Is The Future
This question can be understood in a couple of possible ways. My response will focus on whether God experiences time in the same way created beings do rather than discussing the future of God in society and an increasingly secular culture.
Both time and space belong to the created order. As Creator, God is beyond both of these realities while sustaining them in being. Created beings perceive time in a linear fashion such that there is a past, present and future. God dwells in the eternal now in which all time is present in a singular moment. The very name of God, “I AM,” alludes to this eternal origin of causality.
God is all in all for every aspect of the created order. For this reason, I can say that the past, present and future all belong to God as Lord of history.
