The 2024 Knights of Columbus Council 7322 Memorial Golf Tournament in Memory of Sir Knight Dr. Newsom “Newt” Maples was held on Saturday, October 5, 2024. Sir Knight Dr. Newt Maples passed away in April 2024. He was a longtime member of Council 7322 and a 4th Degree Knight.   

The Knights hosted this year’s event at Lakeridge Golf Course in Reno, Nevada. The event was a fun-filled four-person 18 hole shotgun start scramble with a full field (144) of players making the 2024 tournament the biggest and most successful yet. Players had chances at hole-in-one prizes, including a $10,000 cash prize, $5,000 putting contest, cash prizes for the longest drive, closest to the pin and low team score. Players also enjoyed a prime-rib/roasted chicken dinner after a beautiful day of golf. 

Over $40,000 was raised through this event! All net proceeds from the tournament will go back into the Reno/Sparks community. Benefactors include but are not limited to Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada, The Eddy House, Veterans Guest House, Honor Flight Nevada, The Knights of Columbus Education Scholarship Program, Youth Scouting, Saint Albert the Great Catholic Parish and Catholic School.
