October is Respect Life Month - How to Support and Share

By Linda Ugalde, Executive Secretary, Respect Life Commission

The Catholic Church celebrates Respect Life Month every October in the U.S. to “help Catholics understand and value the gift of human life and help build a culture that cherishes and protects it.” The Secretariat of Pro-Life Activities of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops provides resources and materials to be downloaded, printed, and reproduced for use in parishes, schools, or ministry. For more information, visit https://www.respectlife.org/respect-life-month.

Local events marking Respect Life Month include the First Saturday Rosary on October 5th at 10:30 near the Planned Parenthood facility, 8025 South Virginia Street in Reno. Please come join in prayer for healing and a change of heart so abortion becomes unthinkable.

Bishop Mueggenborg will celebrate the annual Respect Life Mass at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 27th at the Cathedral. The Bishop will lead a Rosary in the Church following Mass. Everyone is invited.

The annual student Respect Life Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Mueggenborg in mid-October for Catholic school students. The Bishop will award monetary prizes to winners of the related respect life contest.

One of the most important things you can do during Respect Life Month is to help inform your friends, family members, coworkers and neighbors to Vote No on Question 6. See the links below for videos, articles to share.
