The 41st Annual Reno Diocesan Conference was held at the Nugget Resort and Casino in Reno, Nevada, January 5-6,  2024. Theology on Tap kicked off an evening on January 4th for young adults, featuring author Madeleine Dobrowski, who in her book explores the Catholic themes that can be found in The Lord of the Rings trilogy.  

At the Friday evening welcome, we heard from individuals from our own diocese sharing their courageous journeys (in both English and Spanish) of how the Eucharist is their source of mission.

The keynote by Dr. Andrew and Sarah Swafford was authentically genuine and helpful to parents and young adults as they dig into their Catholic faith. Father Pablo Gadenz keynote was offered in both Spanish and English. His insights into the significance of the Eucharist as our source of mission educated and provided a passionate view into why the Eucharist is a gift we receive. 

The content presented by speakers in the sessions covered a wide range of topics and engaged attendees while gaining new information and insights. There were many valuable new sessions and tracks. Some of the topics focused on parenting and family life, vocation ministry, respect life, youth and young adults, the Bible, tracks in Spanish and a new Filipino track. In attendance were authors and Catholic leaders worldwide sharing unique knowledge and perspectives that would be enlightening to any person in attendance.

The conference concluded with Mass presided by Bishop Daniel Mueggenborg, joined by the Diocese Choir, led by Nina Weaver. The Aly Aleigha Band celebrated the event with a memorable and entertaining concert.
