On June 29, 2023 Archbishop George L. Thomas of Las Vegas, the newest archbishop in the United States celebrated Mass with Pope Francis and received a pallium, a woolen band that is a sign of their unity with the bishop of Rome and of their responsibility as shepherds of a local church.

The three Bishops of Nevada: Archbishop George Thomas (Las Vegas); Bishop Daniel Mueggenborg (Reno); Auxiliary Bishop Gregory Gordon(Las Vegas) amongst friends, family and clergy were all in attendance.
